If you're looking to give archery a try or you want to start winning gold medals, Heights Archery Academy has a program suited to your needs!

We offer classes for everyone! From those who have never held a bow, to 4-month development program for high-level competitors, and everything in between. Certified Archery instructors who help design programs that set our athletes on the path to success run all of our classes.

I have never shot a bow, which class is right for me? 

TRY ARCHERY! Our 4-week beginner class is the perfect choice for you. This month-long program focuses on basic archery shooting fundamentals, archery range shooting procedures and rules, archery range etiquette, SAFETY, and of course, FUN! By the end of program you will certainly get a good feel for what archery has to offer. You will learn to shoot with both traditional and modern bows! Alternatively if you prefer to be in a class without children join our adult-only lessons! 

How old do you have to be? 

Please note, adults are more than welcome to join in with the regular classes.

Try Archery - Ages 6 +

Learn to Shoot - Ages 8 +

Archer - Ages 10 + 

Adult only lessons - Ages 18 +

I have my own bow and have been shooting a little bit, should I still take the beginners class?

Archers with some experience can either start at the first level, or jump right into the learn to shoot program. If you are not sure where you should start please contact us and we will be happy to discuss the available options for you.

When are the classes offered? 

Classes are offered from September through April but the dates vary depending on the class. Below is a general guideline of class times, but please check here for class schedules and start dates. You pick one class time, and come to that same class on a weekly basis.

Ages 6+

TRY ARCHERY (Level 1) 4 classes - Tuesdays 6:00pm or Tuesdays 7:00pm

Ages 8+

LEARN TO SHOOT (Level 2) 8 classes - Monday 6:00pm, Monday 7:00pm, Saturday 9:00am, Saturday 10:00am or Saturday 11:00am

Ages 10+

ARCHER (Level 3) 8 classes - Wednesday 6:00pm Wednesdays 7:00pm 

Ages 12+

ADULT TRY ARCHERY   4 classes - Tuesdays 8:00pm

ADULT LEARN TO SHOOT 8 classes - Monday 8:00pm

Do I need my own equipment?

All needed equipment can be supplied for the 'Try Archery' and 'Learn to Shoot' programs.

You are welcome to bring your own if you have.

For all higher levels, Archer class and beyond then students will require their own equipment for the courses.

How much does it cost? 

The cost of the classes depends on what program you're in. Below is the fee schedule for the different class levels.

Try Archery (Level 1)   $75   4-weeks

Learn to Shoot (Level 2)   $125   8-weeks

Archer (Level 3)   $140   10-weeks

Adult Try Archery (Level 1)   $75   4-weeks

Adult Learn to Shoot (Level 2) $125   8-weeks

Class Descriptions

Try Archery (Previously Level 1)

4 weeks $75 

Introduction / Beginner Level. No experience required.

  • Brand new to Archery! Little to no experience welcome!
  • Ages 6 +, families encouraged to shoot together
  • Learn basic shooting fundamentals
  • Learn proper archery range procedures and etiquette
  • Class focus is on learning, safety, and fun!
  • All equipment will be provided (or bring your own)
  • 12 students maximum per class
  • Certified Instructors (2 per class)
  • Class offered: Tuesday 6:00pm, Tuesday 7:00pm

Learn to Shoot (Previously Level 2)

8 weeks $125

Intermediate Level. 

  • For students with some basic archery experience, that have completed try archery/equivalent
  • All equipment will be provided (or bring your own)
  • Students should be focusing on a style of shooting (compound or recurve)
  • Beginning refinements of shooting technique, shot execution and overall form
  • Scoring is incorporated into classes and students can work towards badges
  • Focus on fun and entertainment as well as bettering personal skills
  • 14 students maximum per class
  • Ages 8+ 
  • 2 Certified Instructors 
  • Class offered: Monday 6:00pm, Monday 7:00pm, Saturday 9:00am, Saturday 10:00am or Saturday 11:00am

Adult Only Learn to Shoot (Previously level 1/2)

8 weeks $125

Intermediate Level (beginners welcome!) No experience required.

  • For adults with some basic archery experience, or new to the sport.
  • All equipment will be provided (or bring your own)
  • Beginning refinements of shooting technique and form
  • Focus on fun and entertainment and perfecting skills
  • 14 students maximum per class
  • 2 Certified Instructors
  • Class offered: Monday 8:00pm

Archer (Previously Level 3)

10 weeks $140

Prerequisites: must have own equipment. Have taken 'Learn to Shoot' level class or equivalent.

  • Students need to show drive for bettering their performance
  • Learning about competition aspects. Practicing tournament shooting
  • Equipment adjustment/maintenance and individual goals incorporated.
  • Students can decide if they want to be a recreational or competitive shooter.
  • Additional practice is expected out of class time
  • Ages 10+, adults welcome
  • 12 students maximum per class
  • 2 Certified Instructors 
  • Class offered: Wednesday 6:00pm and Wednesday 7:00pm
