If you're looking to give archery a try or you want to start winning gold medals, Heights Archery Academy has a program suited to your needs!

We offer classes for everyone! From those who have never held a bow, to 4-month development program for high-level competitors, and everything in between. Certified Archery instructors who help design programs that set our athletes on the path to success run all of our classes.

I have never shot a bow, which class is right for me? 

Level 1, our 4-week beginner class is the perfect choice for you. This month-long program focuses on basic archery shooting fundamentals, archery range shooting procedures and rules, archery range etiquette, SAFETY, and of course, FUN! By the end of program you will certainly get a good feel for what archery has to offer. You will learn to shoot with both traditional and modern bows! Alternatively if you prefer to be in a class without children join our adult-only lessons! 

How old do you have to be? 

Level 1 - Ages 6 +

Level 2 - Ages 8 +

Level 3 - Ages 10 + 

Adult lessons - Ages 18 +

Please note, adults are more than welcome to join in with the regular classes.

I have my own bow and have been shooting a little bit, should I still take the beginners class?

Archers with some experience can either start at level 1 (beginner), or jump right into level 2 (intermediate). If you are not sure where you should start please contact us and we will be happy to discuss the available options for you.

When are the classes offered? 

Classes are offered from September through April but the dates vary depending on the class. Below is a general guideline of class times, but please check here for class schedules and start dates. You pick one class time, and come to that same class on a weekly basis.

Level 1 (Beginner) 4-week class- Tuesdays 6-7pm or Thursdays 6pm-7pm

Level 2 (Intermediate) 8-week class- Mondays 6-7pm, 7-8pm; Wednesdays 6-7pm, Saturdays 9-10am, 10-11am or 11am-12pm

Level 3 (Intermediate 2) 10-week class - Wednesdays 7-8pm or Thursdays 7-8pm

Level 4 (Advanced) 15-week class- Tuesdays 7pm-8pm or 8pm-9pm

Adult Archery Classes 8-week classMondays 8pm-9pm or Wednesdays 8pm-9pm

Sessions typically begin in the months of September, November, and January/February. For exact start dates please click here!

How much does it cost? 

The cost of the classes depends on what program you're in. Below is the fee schedule for the different class levels.

Level 1   $65   4-weeks

Level 2   $115   8-weeks

Adult (Level 1/2)  $115   8-weeks

Level 3   $130   10-weeks

Level 4   $195   

Do I need my own equipment?

All needed equipment will be supplied for Level 1 and Level 2 classes.

For Level 3 & 4, students require their own equipment.

Class Descriptions

Level 1 (Previously Beginner)

Introduction / Beginner 

4 weeks $65 

  • Brand new to Archery! Little to no experience welcome!
  • Ages 6 +   Families encouraged to shoot together
  • Learn basic shooting fundamentals
  • Learn proper archery range procedures and etiquette
  • Class focus is on learning, safety, and fun!
  • All equipment will be provided (or bring your own)
  • Both traditional (recurve) and modern (compound) bows will be taught
  • 12 students maximum per class
  • Certified Instructors (2 per class)

Level 2 (Previously Intermediate)

8 weeks $115

  • For students with some basic archery experience
  • Have completed the Level 1 class or equivalent
  • All equipment will be provided (or bring your own)
  • Students should be focusing on a style of shooting (compound or recurve)
  • Beginning refinements of shooting technique, shot execution and overall form
  • Scoring is incorporated into classes and students can work towards badges
  • Focus on fun and entertainment as well as bettering personal skills
  • 16 students maximum per class
  • Ages 8+ 
  • Certified Instructors (minimum 2 per class)
  • Class offered: Monday 6-7pm, 7-8pm, Wednesday 6-7pm, Saturday 9-10am, 10-11am, 11am-12pm

Level 1 / 2 - Adult

8 weeks $115

  • For adults with some basic archery experience, or new to the sport
  • All equipment will be provided (or bring your own)
  • Learn with both traditional and modern bows
  • Beginning refinements of shooting technique and form
  • Focus on fun and entertainment and perfecting skills.
  • 16 students maximum per class
  • Certified Instructors
  • Class offered: Monday 8-9pm or Thursday 8-9pm

Level 3 (Previously Intermediate 2)

10 weeks $130

  • Students need their own equipment and show drive for bettering their performance
  • Learning about competition aspects. Practicing tournament shooting
  • Equipment adjustment/maintenance and individual goals incorporated.
  • Students can decide if they want to be a recreational or competitive shooter.
  • 12 students maximum per class
  • Certified Instructors (minimum 2 per class)
  • Class offered: Wednesday 7-8pm or Thursday 7-8pm

Level 4 (Advanced)

15 weeks $195

  • Prerequisites: students must have their own equipment; been selected into the program or passed level 3.
  • Strong focus on individual goals & tournament shooting
  • Equipment selection, maintenance, and bow tuning are heavily incorporated
  • Students should know where they want to take their archery (Recreational or Competitor)
  • Class offered: Tuesday 7-8pm or Tuesday 8-9pm
